"Pig"
I am an emerging artist in the genre of wood carving, though I have worked with timber in one form or another all my life. "Pig", pictured to the left, is indicative of my basic wood carving philosophy; that being: To create a pleasing, recogniseable shape, and thereafter allow the natural splendour of nature to take centre stage. I view whatever carving skills I have or may learn as being merely a vessel by which to showcase the awesome wonder of nature in all its glory. Though my styles may vary a little as I proceed with this artform, as indeed they have to date, my basic philosophy stands.
I hope you enjoy viewing my humble art in the gallery, and I hope to keep a selection of step by step demonstrations, for anyone wishing to understand how I arrive at my finished pieces.
